Betrayed

via Daily Prompt: Betrayed

What do I think when I see the word betrayed?

Betrayed

  • To give aid or information to an enemy of; commit treason against

  • To be false or disloyal to

The worst betrayal is when it comes from a long-term great friend. A person who knows all of your secrets, flaws, strengths, weaknesses, etc. A person you thought had your back through everything and anything. A person who you called your sister/brother and accepted them as family. Would you forgive them? Should you forgive them?

  1. I like these prompts because they really force you to take a second and think. Personally I have forgave pretty much everyone that’s betrayed me in the past. I think there’s a huge difference between forgiving someone and actually wanting them to be a part of your everyday life. If someone continues to hurt you and not make you feel good about yourself, then you’ll feel a lot happier sometimes if you let them go.

  2. I agree with the above. What’s the sense in holding onto anger? It will only make you unhappy. The best thing is to get over it in your own time and forgive the person for whatever they did so that you can move on. You don’t have to tell them you forgive them, it’s personal. I would also try to think of what their motives where and if it was out of character – what drove them to act that way x
